From the beginning, his musical life revolved around chamber music. He has since performed at festivals such as Verbier, Ravinia, YellowBarn, Gstaad and Krzyzowa-Music and has collaborated with musicians such as Sol Gabetta, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Viviane Hagner, Kim Kashkashian, Ivan Monighetti, and Helena Winkelman. As a soloist, he has performed with several orchestras in the USA, including on tour with the Curtis Chamber Orchestra, and with the Kammerorchester Basel. Garbot has been guest concertmaster of Festival Strings Lucerne and also various guest leading positions with Stuttgart Kammerorchester, and Camerata Bern. He is also a substitute violinist Luzerner Sinfonieorchester and with Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich and is regular guest with the chamber music collective Camerata Variabile. He was awarded the Music Prize of the Kiefer-Hablitzel and Göhner Foundation in Bern in 2022 and is a scholarship holder of the Villa Musica Foundation. He received his Master in Performance and Master Solist Diplom with Rainer Schmidt at the Musik Akademie Basel. He received further instruction and influence from Itzhak Perlman, Miriam Fried and the late Leon Fleisher. He is the 2nd violinist of the Swiss-based, Quatuor Aviv.
