Augustin Lipp

Augustin Lipp is a percussionist, sound artist, and teacher at the Haute École de Musique Lausanne (HEMU), where he serves as head of the percussion department.

His artistic practice lies at the intersection of classical music, improvisation, sound design, and object theatre. He has received around twenty national and international awards for his diverse artistic projects, including two Special Prizes at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich (2019), the Kiefer Hablitzel Prize (2021), the DAAD Prize for Social and Intercultural Engagement (2021), and the Young Swiss Artist Award (2025).

Over the years, he has collaborated with artists from a wide range of disciplines, including sculptor Etienne Krähenbühl, actor Jean Winiger, puppeteer Florian Feisel, aikidoka Léa Duchmann, filmmaker Patrick Sims, media artist Fabian Kühfuss, cellist Martin Egidi, and harpist Tjasha Gafner.
